Job Summary

Seattle Children's Main is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team in a Pediatric Intensive Care setting. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care to pediatric patients in the intensive care unit, including ventilation management, oxygen therapy, and airway management.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' respiratory status, identifying potential issues and developing strategies to address them.
  • Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators, oxygen concentrators, and nebulizers.
  • Participate in code blue responses and other emergency situations, providing critical care to patients as needed.
  • Document patient care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Current RRT certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Experience working in a pediatric intensive care unit or similar setting.
  • Strong knowledge of respiratory care principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with high-frequency jet ventilators and high-frequency oscillators.
  • Knowledge of EPIC electronic medical record system.
  • Experience working in a trauma or level 1 trauma setting.
