Job Summary

Seattle Children's Main is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU, including ventilation management, oxygen therapy, and airway management.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' respiratory status and develop plans to improve lung function and overall patient outcomes.
  • Operate and maintain complex respiratory equipment, including ventilators and oxygen concentrators.
  • Participate in code blue and rapid response team activations as needed.
Requirements
  • Current RRT certification and licensure in the state of Washington.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a pediatric ICU or critical care setting.
  • Experience with high-frequency jet ventilation and high-frequency oscillation therapy.
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric respiratory physiology and pathophysiology.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a children's hospital or pediatric ICU.
  • Knowledge of EPIC electronic medical record system.
  • Experience with trauma, level 1 trauma, ER, and teaching/community hospital settings.
