This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring optimal network performance and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Monitoring: Continuously assess network performance, diagnose underlying issues, and implement effective resolutions.
  • Technical Support: Deliver comprehensive server, network, and desktop/application assistance to both clients and team members.
  • Project Assistance: Collaborate with the team on specific client projects as needed.
Position Duties

As a Systems Administrator, your primary duties will include:

  • Supporting Microsoft Windows server and network infrastructures.
  • Managing and troubleshooting both on-premise and cloud-based environments.
  • Maintaining network configurations and addressing performance-related issues, including internet bandwidth and firewall/router challenges.
  • Monitoring Windows server performance and server applications, identifying root causes, and resolving issues.
  • Providing Tier 3 support for desktop and application issues, including support for line of business applications.
  • Creating and updating detailed technical and training documentation.
  • Planning and executing desktop projects, with durations ranging from one day to two weeks.
  • Typical workload distribution: 30% Windows server support, 50% escalated desktop/application support, 10% network support, 5% training, and 5% administrative tasks.
Ideal Candidate Profile

You are an excellent candidate for this role if you possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Over 5 years of experience supporting current Windows server and desktop technologies within a Windows-based network environment, including:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server (latest OS) and Exchange Server (or equivalent enterprise mail systems).
    • Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy.
    • Familiarity with all current Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems.
    • Knowledge of XenApp/RDS or other Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technologies.
  • Experience with LAN and WAN technologies and firewalls, including but not limited to:
    • Cisco
    • Meraki
    • Fortinet
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Windows Server and Exchange, including maintenance and support.
  • Microsoft Certified Professional Status (MCSE or MCITP).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • A valid driver's license and insurance, along with reliable transportation for occasional travel related to onsite and project work.
  • Flexibility to meet after-hours and weekend client and team member needs.
