POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Audio Production Specialist is tasked with the essential duties of capturing, blending, and refining sound during various services and events. This role involves the setup, troubleshooting, and operation of audio equipment to guarantee superior sound quality during services, recordings, and special occasions. Furthermore, the Audio Production Specialist will mentor other media team members on the fundamentals of equipment operation and sound mixing. This position is vital to the media team and requires a comprehensive understanding of industry-standard practices and techniques. The individual will align with the vision, mission, and values of the New Covenant Church of Philadelphia, embodying Christian principles and actively participating in the ministry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Engages with Pastors, congregation members, and staff with professionalism and respect, ensuring assistance is provided in a courteous manner.
  2. Fosters a positive atmosphere and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  3. Maintains consistent attendance and punctuality.
  4. Participates in all staff meetings, professional development workshops, and mandatory training sessions.
  5. Attends required leadership gatherings.
  6. Upholds confidentiality regarding members and church matters at all times.
  7. Complies with all church policies and serves as a role model in adherence to these standards.

AUDIO & TRAINING DUTIES:

  1. Manages sound mixing during Sunday services, Bible studies, and special events as necessary.
  2. Conducts sound mixing during technical rehearsals with the worship and media teams.
  3. Executes sound checks to identify and resolve any equipment or audio challenges prior to services.
  4. Implements post-production audio edits for recordings.
  5. Ensures high-quality sound on recorded materials.
  6. Instructs volunteers on the operation of sound equipment and effective mixing techniques.
  7. Collaborates with Worship Leaders, the Music Director, and the Lead Pastor to establish cues and directives.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Formal training in live sound engineering and a minimum of three years of continuous professional experience in sound engineering.
  2. Experience in a church or worship environment is preferred.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  1. Proficient in live sound engineering for large venues with extensive channel requirements.
  2. Experienced in mixing diverse music genres, including gospel.
  3. Skilled in both analog and digital audio consoles.
  4. Detail-oriented with strong attentiveness to sound quality.
  5. Leadership capabilities for guiding a team of volunteers.
  6. Effective communication skills.
  7. Familiarity with Adobe Suite, graphic design, and video editing.
  8. Knowledgeable in Digital Audio Workstations.
  9. Ability to operate a Behringer Wing Digital Mixer.
  10. Capable of quick thinking and effective troubleshooting in high-pressure situations.
  11. Able to work at a workstation for extended periods.
  12. Physical capability to lift up to 20 lbs. as necessary.
  13. Ability to stand for prolonged durations.

WORK SCHEDULE: Availability required for Sunday mornings, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, totaling 20-25 hours per week, non-exempt. Flexibility for special events and services during weekdays and weekends is essential.
