Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery, equipment, and systems in a food processing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Visually inspect machinery/equipment for defects such as breakage or excessive wear
  • Repair production or processing equipment
  • Specialize in troubleshooting and repair of modern automated equipment
  • Troubleshoot and analyze complex problems and implement proper remedies while ensuring that all safety guidelines and regulations are adhered to when repairing or maintaining equipment
  • Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions
  • Collaborate with other maintenance technicians and engineering staff to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery and equipment
  • Maintain operations of systems such as pneumatic, hydraulic, ammonia, etc.
  • Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers, breakers, switches, receptacles, wiring, and electronic components of machinery and equipment
  • Repair, replace, and maintain the physical structure of equipment
  • Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
  • Preventative maintenance of equipment
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Working with Material Handling Equipment daily
  • Fast-paced work environment with, in, and around industrial machinery
Requirements
  • Flexibility to work overtime including weekends when necessary
  • Capability to bend, twist, and squat as needed throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds without reasonable assistance
  • Must be able to frequently push, pull, kneel, bend, and reach with both arms
  • Ability to work in a refrigerated environment. Production rooms are kept at a constant 32 degrees (and below in certain areas). Ability to withstand cold storage temps for extended periods of time
