Job Overview

Five Paws of Delaware County is seeking dedicated individuals to provide exceptional care for pets when their owners are unavailable.

As a small business located in Delaware County, PA, we are committed to delivering reliable animal care services. Our offerings include daily dog walks, vacation visits, overnight stays, and cat care. As we expand, we are looking for passionate animal lovers to join our ranks.

Work Schedule

This position is part-time, with candidates ideally available Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 3 PM. You will be assigned 5-10 visits daily based on client demand and staffing needs. Additional earning opportunities are available before 10 AM, after 3 PM, and on weekends.

  • Part-time role with 15-30 hours of work per week.
  • Operating hours are from 7 AM to 10 PM.
  • Consistent availability is preferred.
  • Multiple work availability blocks are offered:
    • Early Daytime: 7 AM - 2 PM
    • Daytime Only: 9 AM - 3 PM
    • Evening/Weekend: 5 PM - 10 PM at least 3 days per week, 3 weekends per month
    • Optional overnight pet sitting for additional earnings.
  • Availability on major holidays is required.

We are currently looking for candidates in Media and surrounding communities.

Compensation

Pay ranges from $17 to $21 per hour, based on visits. Staff typically start at $17 per hour, with the potential to earn $19-$21 per hour through bonuses and client gratuities.

  • Monthly earnings can range from $1,000 to $2,300.
  • 100% client gratuity.
  • Mileage reimbursement provided.
  • Flat rate of $79.95 per night for overnight services.

  • Comfortably work outdoors in various weather conditions throughout the year.
  • Possess a modern cell phone with texting, photo, data, and GPS capabilities.
  • Contribute positively to team dynamics.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure punctuality for all assigned visits.
  • Have a genuine desire to care for animals and ensure their safety.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Honest, patient, and enthusiastic individuals who can provide high-quality visits for pets.
  • Previous experience with animals, whether professional or volunteer, is preferred, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.
  • Enjoyment of an active work environment, with the ability to work independently outdoors.
  • Preference given to candidates with evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday availability.
