Job Overview

As a Livestock Research Assistant at Alta Genetics, you will play a key role in optimizing current livestock handling and semen collection practices. This hands-on experience will include activities associated with the daily care of bulls, compiling research data, and presenting findings to company leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Perform daily care of the bulls, including feeding, cleaning, animal handling, semen collection, and other routine tasks
Conduct detailed research trials designed to improve semen production and quality
Summarize research and present recommendations for future improvements based on trial outcomes
Operate company farm equipment and vehicles
Attend company intern orientation and networking events

Requirements

Students pursuing an education in agriculture, biology, genetics, or data science
Experience handling and working with livestock
Passionate about agriculture and innovation
Detail-oriented individual with an interest in completing an independent research project
