Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor Overnight

Michael Foods, Inc. is a leading food processing and distribution company with a strong presence in the industry. We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor Overnight to join our team in Lenox, Iowa.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor Overnight will be responsible for supervising a maintenance shift that supports plant operations. This role requires strong people management skills, operational knowledge, and the ability to train and develop team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a maintenance crew to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Ensure parts requisitioning is done properly and create work orders and PMs as needed
  • Assist with the installation of new equipment and troubleshoot problems with existing equipment
  • Ensure a safe work environment for employees and enforce company policies in a fair and consistent manner
  • Recognize and resolve operating problems to minimize their impact on operations
  • Cooperate with all departments to ensure a coordinated work relationship
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records and enforce company policies in a fair and consistent manner
  • Encourage suggestions from employees to improve production, quality, safety, and control costs
  • Schedule crew overtime and participate in organizational teams and committees
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate degree or two-year technical certificate in Mechanics and Electronics, or a related field, and two years of mechanical and electrical maintenance and supervisory experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal relations skills
  • Ability to learn computerized maintenance management systems
  • Knowledge of basic mechanics, welding, electrical, fabrication, boilers, refrigeration, preventative maintenance, plant operations, PLCs, and government safety and environmental regulations
  • Ability to supervise department personnel in a fair and consistent manner
  • Ability to recognize problem situations and take appropriate steps to resolve
