WSECU is seeking an entry-level Data Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in econometrics, operations research, applied statistics, machine learning, hard science or engineering, or related quantitative discipline.

Job Description

We are looking for a talented individual who can synthesize and leverage our disparate datasets to enhance our products and services. This role involves performing experimental design approaches to validate findings or test hypotheses.

Responsibilities
  • Work with end-users and analysts to model complex problems and discover insights using statistical, algorithmic, data mining, and visualization techniques.
  • Model and frame business scenarios that are meaningful and have direct impact on critical business processes and decisions.
  • Develop and perform text classification using methods such as logistic regression, decision trees, support vector machines, and maximum entropy classifiers.
  • Help build WSECU's capability and strategy to understand and assess new products and evaluate the success of existing products and services.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to effectively utilize techniques to derive insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the writing of executive and board-level reports.
  • Expertise in econometric modeling, statistical and predictive modeling, machine-learning approaches, clustering, classification techniques, recommendation, and optimization algorithms.
Salary

$120,000 per year.
