Job Title:

Principal Communications Engineer/Sr. Principal Communications Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Communications Engineer/Sr. Principal Communications Engineer to join our team in Melbourne, FL. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, configuring, testing, documenting, and troubleshooting communications systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in integration of airborne communications systems and components, as well as experience with system modeling and requirements management tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Integration of airborne communications systems and components to enable real-time coordination and reliable communication between ground, air, space, and naval forces
  • Requirements development, analysis, maturation, and implementation
  • Design, analyze, configure, test, document, and troubleshoot communications systems
  • Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate voice, encryption, and infrastructure subsystems to meet platform mission objectives
  • Technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration, and test support
  • Perform informal and formal testing of subsystem requirements
Requirements:
  • Principal Communications Engineer (T03): Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering, or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering, or a Ph.D. and 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering
  • Sr. Principal Communications Engineer (T04): Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering, or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 7 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering, or a Ph.D. and 4 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with cryptographic implementations for airborne military communications subsystems
  • Experience with airborne communications infrastructure and equipment
  • Experience with voice, military, and network waveforms
  • Experience with VoIP implementations, protocols, and equipment
  • Experience with aircraft intercommunication systems (ICS)
  • Experience with system modeling and requirements management tools (Cameo, DOORS, Rhapsody, etc.), developing/maturing requirements, and tracing requirements through various levels
  • Experience with Earned Value Management
  • Experience with supplier/subcontract management
  • An active Top Secret clearance

Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range of $92,600 - $139,000, as well as a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company-paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
