Job Title: Principal Model-Based Engineering CAD/PLM Tools Engineer

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Principal Model-Based Engineering CAD/PLM Tools Engineer to join our team of experts in the Vehicle Engineering department. This position is located in Melbourne, Florida.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leveraging prior engineering design/analysis experience to support Model-based Design (MBD), Model-based Manufacturing (MBM), and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) initiatives related to engineering tools development and Northrop Grumman Digital Transformation strategy at both the sector and enterprise levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maturation of digital thread between engineering and manufacturing
  • Work as Sector ECAD Architect
  • Engineering CAD/PLM tools requirement definition
  • Support the development and program adoption of AS Sector Digital Transformation tools and initiatives
  • Validation testing of CAD/PLM tool functionality
  • Creation of training and best practice documentation
  • Provide subject matter expert (SME) user support
  • Develop/update sector processes for CAD/PLM
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and 5 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in design, analysis and/or engineering tools development discipline OR Masters degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in design, analysis and/or engineering tools development.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
  • Experience with Capital and Expedition
  • Experience with HarnesSys
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Experience working in an aerospace design environment. Emphasis placed in the following disciplines: Structural Design/Analysis, Subsystems Design/Analysis, Electrical/Mechanical Routing, or Mechanism Design/Analysis.
  • Experience working with Teamcenter and NX (or equivalent PDM/PLM and CAD/CAE applications).
  • Experience working with Capital and Expedition (or equivalent)
  • Experience with Model-Based Relational Design and Assembly Configuration
  • Experience working in the context of an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Communicates effectively and clearly presents technical approaches and recommendations.

Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range of $92,600 - $139,000, with a salary range 2 of $114,900 - $172,300.
