WSP is seeking a talented Lead Geospatial Solutions Specialist to spearhead our geospatial team based in Portland, ME.
The ideal candidate will be instrumental in shaping and executing our geospatial strategy, utilizing intelligence to inform decision-making and enhance our services for clients and stakeholders.

Your Contributions- Oversee projects related to GIS database architecture and management, qualitative and quantitative analysis, mapping, and data visualization.
- Coordinate the GIS workload for projects in Portland, collaborating with local leadership to balance staffing and workload requirements.
- Mentor junior GIS personnel, allocating and reviewing project tasks.
- Ensure compliance with project plans and established business processes, including quality and project management standards.
- Provide guidance to team members throughout the project lifecycle.
- Proactively identify and strategize around potential risks and issues.
- Engage with project team members to clarify data requirements, project specifications, and expected outcomes.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and technical support staff as necessary.
- Participate in client meetings as required.
- Customize GIS workflows and software applications for data collection, engineering, and environmental purposes.
Required Qualifications:
- 5 to 7 years of experience in GIS project management.
- Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Geography, or a related field.
- Proficient in ESRI ArcGIS software.
- Strong analytical skills and familiarity with research methodologies, data modeling, and database management.
- Creative problem-solving abilities, multitasking, and organizational skills.
- Proven production management capabilities and understanding of project management principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proactive in communication and problem-solving.
- Attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities.
- Collaborative mindset, capable of working with diverse individuals, including engineers, scientists, planners, and government officials.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Power BI.
- Strong work ethic and ambition to lead within the company and the professional community.
- Experience with ArcGIS Online (AGOL).
- Familiarity with non-GIS engineering software.
- Experience with relational databases such as SQL-Server or EQuIS.
- Knowledge of CAD/BIM/Digital Engineering applications.
- Experience customizing GIS software using Python.
- Familiarity with ArcGIS Arcade.
- Willingness to travel occasionally, as needed (less than 10% travel expected).
