Job Summary

Morton Salt is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our team at the Weeks Island Facility. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will play a critical role in providing technical support and expertise in procurement, inventory management, and contract reviews.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with procurement and inventory management to ensure seamless operations
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and employees
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of materials, equipment, and services procured for facility operations
  • Provide hands-on support in purchasing indirect goods and services
  • Engage in cross-functional category management activities to drive efficiency and cost savings
  • Prepare and analyze bid packages, request for qualifications, and quotations
  • Develop an understanding of company terms and stock/non-stock material inventories, including material control, warehousing, and logistics
  • Assist with inventory consolidation and reduction projects
Requirements
  • Enrolled in an accounting, economics, finance, management, and/or engineering program
  • SAP experience is desired but not required
  • Ability to work in an underground environment as necessary
Work Environment

Field work will include underground and surface industrial environments where potential dust, high temperatures, and other industrial and mine-related hazards may be encountered.
