Job Title: Payments Specialist

Join the City of New York team as a Payments Specialist and play a crucial role in ensuring timely and efficient payment processing for the Agency Chief Contracting Office (ACCO).

Job Summary:

The Payments Specialist will be responsible for analyzing, archiving, and retrieving payment vouchers and related documentation. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze payment documents to review calculations of items being invoiced and process payments using funds allocated for specific goods or services.
  • Ensure payment information is entered into the Small Procurement Automated Contract Tracking (sPACT) System Database in a timely manner and maintain accurate records.
  • Create analytical reports and work with vendors to rectify any discrepancies.
  • Prepare, correct, and accept payment vouchers in a timely manner and maintain voucher files.
Requirements:
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and six months of satisfactory full-time professional experience in procurement of goods, services, construction, or construction-related services, or professional, technical, or administrative experience in contract negotiation/management.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
