Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Respiratory Therapist PRN to join our team at HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake. As a key member of our respiratory care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain established department policies, procedures, objectives, and quality assurance, safety.
  • Set up equipment and medications and administer respiratory treatments as ordered by the physician; chart treatment, response, and progress.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor ventilators when the patient's respiratory system is incapable of spontaneous ventilation.
  • Perform arterial puncture and arterial blood analysis.
  • Observe patients, check equipment, and make changes necessary during patient rounds.
  • Obtain and/or document patient vital signs, and equipment settings as required by the specific procedure or test.
  • Provide instructions in therapeutic procedures to the patient, family, or staff.
  • Assure delivery of quality respiratory therapy services; available for consultation with medical, nursing, and administrative staff.
  • Conduct and/or assist with special procedures, including pulmonary function studies and bronchoscopy.
  • Provide for proper cleaning and sterilization of all respiratory therapy equipment to ensure safe patient care.
  • Have knowledge of Performance Improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience in critical care required.
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Texas Medical Board - Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • NBRC certification CRT.
