Job Summary

This role is an exciting opportunity to lead our underwriting operations and contribute to the success of The Zenith. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing all underwriting activities and ensuring that our branch/office operations are running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic underwriting direction in collaboration with the Branch Manager.
  • Hold regular management meetings to discuss vision, goals, and performance metrics.
  • Make decisions and take actions to achieve planned results, leveraging professional methods, business principles, and practical experience.
  • Create a positive and productive work environment that fosters teamwork, growth, and innovation.
  • Conduct operational audits and yearly compliance audits to assess branch performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Recommend or make decisions on existing or new programs that impact operations and have potential consequences.
  • Schedule and conduct employee meetings to discuss operational issues and direction.
  • Collaborate with management from other disciplines and offices to solve problems and drive results.
  • Provide branch sponsorship and support organizational change initiatives.
  • Interview technical job candidates to ensure they possess the necessary qualifications and experience.
  • Provide feedback to branch management staff and direct reports.
  • Facilitate staff development and cross-department synergy.
  • Work with managers/supervisors on performance improvement plans or personnel issues.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports and contribute to reviews for downstream staff as needed.
  • Support local training and establish training protocols for the office.
  • Anticipate and recognize problems, including across organizational boundaries, and effectively solve them.
  • Define, measure, and increase productivity and reporting outcomes.
  • Motivate and influence others to achieve quality results.
  • Act as a role model for ethical behavior.
  • Work productively and harmoniously with others on a consistent basis.
  • Respond positively to direction and criticism of performance.
  • Consistently maintain a professional and appropriate demeanor.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training/experience required.
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible related work experience required.
  • Prior branch-level underwriting management experience preferred.
  • Prior staff supervisory/leadership experience required.
Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is $150,000 to $190,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. Qualifications may warrant placement in a different job level.
