Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Airworthiness Certification Specialist to join our team at General Dynamics. As an Airworthiness Certification Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the airworthiness of aircraft and components, conducting inspections, and certifying compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of aircraft and components to ensure airworthiness and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Certify the airworthiness of aircraft and components, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed and filed.
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure that all quality control and assurance procedures are followed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all mechanical, electrical, and inspection requirements are met.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to inspection personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 7 years of experience in aircraft inspection, including 3 years of experience on large or mid-size aircraft.
  • Airframe and Powerplant license required.
  • ASQ certificate (American Society for Quality) preferred.
  • Other Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred.
  • Other DAR/DMIR/ODAR/ODA-Unit Member in good-standing preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Competent in use of all job-related tools and equipment.
  • Proficient in blueprint/drawing reading, use/interpretation of Maintenance Manuals, CMP, ADTS, Travelers, Customer Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, test specifications, and other manufacturing/inspection-related documentation.
  • Working knowledge and application of Quality Assurance or Quality Control systems and methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of FAA Regulations, Orders, and other guidance pertinent to issuance of export airworthiness approvals & conformity determination.
