Job Title: Staff Accountant

At Mosaic Companies, LLC, we are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for performing daily general accounting functions and preparing data for journal entries, general ledger, and related financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare general ledger journal entries, fixed asset tracking, monthly balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliation.
  • Generate and file monthly financial reports.
  • Prepare all vouchers and approved invoices for payment; process all company payments in a timely manner.
  • Interface with appropriate departments to secure proper payment approvals.
  • Prepare accounts payable checks.
  • Oversee maintenance of accounts payable files and records.
  • Process and oversee expense reimbursement and reporting.
  • Prepare Wire and ACH payments functions including verifying invoices, and expense reports for domestic and international suppliers/contractors.
  • Keep wire journal log updated with invoices that were already paid.
  • Provide Suppliers/Contractors with payment details once payment has been processed.
  • Prepare documentation for container receiving using SSE SharePoint.
  • Allocate costs accordingly for each container in the System.
  • Complete the receiving process by posting all the invoices related to each container into the system after all costs have been allocated and all documentation has been reviewed.
  • Clean GRNs for all invoices/containers received within the month. Must be cleaned by the end of each month.
  • File and maintain organization on all invoices/containers.
  • Assist with accounts receivable functions including but not limited to applying payments to appropriate accounts, monthly invoicing, reconciling customer accounts, and handling customer inquiries.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly journals.
  • Perform daily banking procedures.
  • Assist with annual external audits.
  • Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare account analyses and reconciliation.
  • Coordinate implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures.
  • Review and analyze the organization's accounting operation; recommend improvements.
  • Assist with related special projects as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of one-year certificate from college or technical school.
  • One to three years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
  • Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
