Job Summary
The Fleet Maintenance Group at Dominion Energy is seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanic to join their team in Charlottesville, VA. This position offers a competitive hourly rate and opportunities for advancement in the Automotive Mechanic Development Program.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and perform maintenance on various types of equipment in the fleet, including on- and off-road vehicles with diesel and gasoline engines.
- Work with customers from different departments to understand their needs and issues.
- Perform Preventative Maintenance tasks, such as oil and fluid changes, tire changes, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure safety rules and regulations are observed in the garage or worksite.
- Leverage technology to analyze issues and track customer needs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a CDL learner's permit within 1 month of employment.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a professional Automotive Mechanic.
- General knowledge of gas combustion engines, diesel engines, and air conditioning.
- Ability to pass drug screening and background checks.
Working Conditions
- Cold temperatures up to 25%.
- Dust, grease, and oil in the work environment (76-100%).
- Union membership with IBEW Local 50 VA/NC/WVA.
