Fleet Maintenance Specialist Job Summary

The Fleet Maintenance Group at Dominion Energy is seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanic to join our team in Charlottesville, VA. As a Fleet Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing maintenance on a variety of equipment, including light duty vehicles, diesel engines, and hydraulic equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with diesel engines, hydraulic equipment, and drivetrains
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil and fluid changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
  • Work with customers to understand their needs and issues, and provide solutions to meet their requirements
  • Develop skills to prepare for further advancement in the Automotive Mechanic Development Program
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license; must obtain a CDL learner's permit within 1 month of employment and a CDL prior to 6 months of employment
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a professional Automotive Mechanic
  • General knowledge of gas combustion engines, diesel engines, and air conditioning systems
Working Conditions:
  • Cold temperatures up to 25%
  • Dust, grease, and oil exposure up to 76-100%
  • Loud noise up to 26-50%
