About the Role

The Executive Director of Community Health Investment and Strategy is a key leadership position responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, executing, and measuring community benefit efforts across the North Division. This leader will ensure the team's operations include implementation of growth and retention strategies, daily operations, financial stability, and completion of the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) with appropriate stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning and Execution
    • Develop and implement the strategic business plan for Community Health Investment within the North Division, evaluating performance improvement opportunities and working with Division and Service Area leadership to direct tactical corrections.
    • Provide direction and be accountable for the effective operation of Community Health Investment within the North Division.
  • Operational Management
    • Determine and implement the organizational structure required to direct and manage Community Health Investment within the larger Providence enterprise context in a manner that is cost-effective and maximizes the use of shared resources and services.
    • Establish success indicators and objectives consistent with senior leadership in support of the Providence Mission, developing operating budgets as appropriate.
  • Financial Management
    • Monitor and evaluate key financial indicators and develop initiatives to assure the financial stability of Community Health Investment.
  • Compliance and Partnerships
    • Work with the Chief State Government Affairs and Community Health Officer, North Division, and Providence legal department to assure operating divisions are in compliance with all applicable laws and governing agencies.
    • Establish positive working relationships with key provider groups and contracting entities, working closely with senior physician and administrative leadership and community partners.
  • Performance Improvement
    • Maintain a cost-effective and quality-driven population health construct that meets the Vision and objectives of senior leadership.
    • Ensure the growth, strength, and stability of Community Health Investment Programs and meets regulatory criteria for Community Health Investment.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Ensure that key operating systems are updated and provide state-of-the-art performance and nurture community partnerships.
    • Maintain a competitive administrative cost structure while ensuring best-in-class service performance.
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Drive performance across with different key partners.
    • Actively support and incorporate the mission and core values into daily activities, treating all others with respect and demonstrating Compassion, Justice, Excellence, Dignity, and Integrity in daily work and relationships with others.
  • Confidentiality and Interpersonal Relations
    • Maintain confidentiality of all information related to patients, medical staff, employees, and as appropriate, other information.
    • Demonstrate service excellence and positive interpersonal relations in dealing with others, including patients/families/members, employees, managers, medical staff, volunteers, and community members, so that productivity and positive relations are maximized.
  • Accountability and Contribution
    • Develop individual objectives consistent with the Providence's Management System and report on individual objectives as requested.
    • Contribute to Providence's cultural narrative in a manner personally meaningful and fulfilling.
