Process Improvement Engineer

As a key contributor, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes that maximize efficiency and minimize costs while adhering to performance and quality benchmarks. You will evaluate costs and establish routes for new products while maintaining an organized record structure for existing products to ensure effective documentation control.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess operational readiness by analyzing factory capabilities, workflow, spatial requirements, and necessary equipment.
- Innovate manufacturing methods in response to evolving technologies and equipment.
- Create and maintain comprehensive process documentation to support ongoing changes.
- Generate cost estimates for new and revised products, employing value engineering techniques to lower manufacturing costs of current offerings.
- Evaluate the manufacturability of new designs focusing on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Contribute to make/buy decisions based on a thorough analysis of cost, quality, and capacity.
- Provide alternative manufacturing or design solutions that meet performance, quality, scheduling, and cost objectives while ensuring lead times are respected.
- Support internal teams and external suppliers in addressing quality, productivity, and technical challenges throughout all product life cycle phases.
- Identify the need for capital equipment and tooling, overseeing procurement and implementation processes.
- Represent the manufacturing function in product and project development teams, ensuring operational readiness for new product launches.
- Assist in qualifying new suppliers and components by defining and establishing requirements in collaboration with internal teams.
- Implement lean methodologies and six sigma practices, leading initiatives to eliminate non-value-added activities, thereby enhancing productivity and quality.
- Drive the resolution of manufacturing challenges to boost productivity and optimize resource utilization.
- Foster strong communication and employee relations within the team.
