Your Role:

The Activity Coordinator will be responsible for designing, organizing, and delivering skill-building, recreational, and life enrichment activities for adults with disabilities, both in community settings and at our centers. This role also includes providing transportation services using Rise vehicles.

  • Assist in developing resources and curriculum for day services, contributing to a comprehensive library for all Rise programs.
  • Coordinate and create monthly and weekly activity calendars.
  • Manage inventory of supplies necessary for activities.
  • Collaborate closely with the on-site Rise Supervisor and Case Managers to ensure activities are tailored to individual needs and align with program objectives.
  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships with community organizations to create volunteer opportunities.
  • Support individuals using a person-centered approach, exemplifying best practices in service delivery.
  • Lead by example in providing outstanding service to individuals, their families, and all stakeholders.
  • Provide direct assistance to individuals, including safe transfers and repositioning using appropriate equipment.


Qualifications:

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Teams, etc.).
  • Ability to learn and utilize case management software effectively.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn about AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) systems and assistive technologies.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Compliance with relevant background checks and pre-employment requirements.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks such as twisting, bending, reaching, and lifting individuals of varying weights.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in applying person-centered techniques with individuals facing disabilities or barriers.
  • A degree in a human services field along with one year of experience working with adults with disabilities or brain injuries is preferred.
