Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse or Psychiatric Technician

Turning Point Community Programs is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse or Psychiatric Technician to join our team at the Viking Crisis Residential program in Sacramento.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the director of nursing or medical director, this position is responsible for providing basic nursing care to members. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of medical and psychiatric services, including providing and administering basic nursing care, teaching members and PSCs regarding health issues, medications, and side effects, and monitoring and reporting adverse reactions to medications and treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides and administers basic nursing care within the scope of practice of an LVN/LPT.
  • Teaches members and PSCs regarding health issues, medications, and side effects.
  • Provides medical support to other Turning Point facilities as needed.
  • Monitors and reports adverse reactions to medications and treatment to the RN and/or Physician.
  • Utilizes good infection control procedures.
  • Maintains current First Aid and CPR certificates.
  • Maintains valid licensure as LVN or LPT.
  • Utilizes behavioral management and crisis intervention techniques.
  • Carries out social and vocational training tasks.
  • Facilitates individual and group therapeutic activities.
  • Participates in multi-disciplinary health conferences.
  • Administers annual TB testing and flu shots.
  • Gives injections and performs blood draws.
  • Adheres to and upholds the policies and procedures of Turning Point Community Programs.
  • Ensures compliance with State licensing standards.
Requirements
  • Valid California Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician.
  • Valid and current First Aid/CPR certification.
  • California driver's license and current vehicle insurance/registration if driving.
  • Reliable means of transportation capable of passing vehicle safety inspection if more than five years old.
Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM.

Compensation

$31.84 per hour.
