This role encompasses Epic MyChart and Epic Ambulatory certifications, focusing on the configuration of the MyChart application to align with patient needs. Previous experience with MyChart and integration applications is advantageous. The position collaborates closely with Ambulatory and Patient Access Analysts, as well as various third-party vendors.

The Ambulatory Analyst is tasked with configuring the ambulatory application to support the operations of ambulatory offices. Experience in ambulatory orders and integration applications is beneficial. This role also involves collaboration with Orders, Patient Access, and PB Analysts, along with external vendors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete assigned Epic certifications, training, projects, and testing.
  • Collaborate with fellow EHR Certified Analysts on designated applications.
  • Execute Epic-related tasks as directed by the supervisor.
  • Provide technical expertise and business process insights to project teams addressing systemic or process challenges within assigned areas.
  • Offer input on alternative solutions, ensuring project teams are well-informed about required efforts, technical limitations, and impacts on existing system stability.
  • Assist departments and project teams in defining requirements for new systems.
  • Support project managers in developing project plans with a focus on technical work requirements and efforts.
  • Engage in vendor selection processes, including demonstrations and functional comparisons.
  • Complete necessary departmental pre-purchase checklists and documentation.
  • Contribute to contracts and statements of work for new systems and functionalities in supported areas.
  • Provide input to design teams for developing updated process diagrams, screen layouts, and other design elements as specified by the project team.
  • Draft design specifications.
  • Carry out system build and development tasks based on design specifications.
  • Conduct unit testing of system components to validate the accuracy of builds as per specifications.
  • Participate in testing using test scripts to confirm business processes.
  • Assist in the development and validation of training materials.
  • Engage in training sessions to ensure effective knowledge transfer to end users.
  • Support go-live events by providing assistance, training, and troubleshooting to deployment teams.
  • Deliver technical support to system end users, acting as the primary resource for managing and resolving system issues.
  • Maintain software for assigned systems at supportable levels and communicate available updates and enhancements to end users.
  • Monitor incident tickets and ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain comprehensive system documentation reflecting architecture, security, and other requirements as defined in documentation templates.
  • Lead analysis of current state and develop alternative solutions.
  • Develop project plans for small to medium implementations and upgrades.
  • Coordinate vendor selection activities.
  • Lead system design teams to ensure all business processes are addressed within specifications.
  • Develop thorough test plans covering organizational business processes affected by implementation.
  • Coordinate cross-functional integrated testing, managing schedules, organizing staff, and tracking issues.
  • Participate in the coordination of go-live events, developing detailed plans and coordinating resources.
  • Engage in change management activities for assigned systems.
  • Coordinate optimization activities to proactively identify improvements that enhance user effectiveness.
  • Communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Work independently, executing assignments with minimal oversight.
  • Participate in implementations with high complexity and organizational visibility.
  • Stay informed about current industry developments and trends.
  • Update the supervisor on project progress and any significant issues.
  • Understand the Quality Assurance and Improvement Plan and engage in departmental activities as requested.
  • Perform additional assignments as specified by the supervisor.
Qualifications

Required Education/Experience:

  • Two to three years of experience in information technology application development, training, and implementation within a healthcare environment, with a strong preference for experience in Epic systems and processes.
  • Certification in Epic MyChart or EpicCare Ambulatory is mandatory.

Preferred Education/Experience: An Associate's Degree in a related field.

Licensure: None required.

  • Possess a thorough understanding of information technology and a solid working knowledge of recent advancements in software systems, programming languages, utility software, report writers, query languages, relational databases, networking, and computer equipment.
  • Good understanding of the Epic system and its integration with related systems.
  • Able to gather and document business and information systems requirements for hospital departments, providing formal analysis and design for recommended solutions.
  • Demonstrate the skills and knowledge necessary to serve as a Project Leader for the development and/or installation of new computer systems and software applications.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and meet project timelines with specific deliverables.
  • Capable of managing a high volume of changes and adjustments in a hospital setting.
  • Demonstrate conscientiousness, accuracy, and the ability to respond logically to unusual or stressful situations, exercising sound judgment.
  • Proficient in the MS Office Professional Family Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
Work Schedule

This is a salaried position, typically Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with after-hours and on-call responsibilities as needed.
