Overview:

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years of experience in patent and/or trademark matters, with a solid understanding of U.S. legal rules, processes, and procedures.
  • Strong familiarity with general office practices and legal terminology specific to Intellectual Property.
  • Proficiency in IP-related technologies and relevant online resources.
  • Experience supporting multiple attorneys is essential.
  • Advanced skills in word processing and various software applications, particularly MS Office.
  • Knowledge of legal filing and record-keeping practices pertinent to IP.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Frequent communication and information exchange with attorneys, clients, and staff are required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform administrative duties, including processing client requests, billing, timekeeping, and expense reports.
  • Dictation and transcription of legal documents.
  • Manage correspondence and communication.
  • Prepare, edit, and finalize legal documents.
  • Assist with IP filings under attorney supervision.
  • Monitor client files and critical deadlines.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and meetings as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments as required.

Educational Background:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three years of experience in an administrative role supporting IP attorneys.
  • Understanding of docket management and deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of USPTO filing processes.
