Key Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of experience in patent and/or trademark matters, with a solid understanding of U.S. legal rules, processes, and procedures.
- Strong familiarity with general office practices and legal terminology specific to Intellectual Property.
- Proficiency in IP-related technologies and relevant online resources.
- Experience supporting multiple attorneys is essential.
- Advanced skills in word processing and various software applications, particularly MS Office.
- Knowledge of legal filing and record-keeping practices pertinent to IP.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- Frequent communication and information exchange with attorneys, clients, and staff are required.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform administrative duties, including processing client requests, billing, timekeeping, and expense reports.
- Dictation and transcription of legal documents.
- Manage correspondence and communication.
- Prepare, edit, and finalize legal documents.
- Assist with IP filings under attorney supervision.
- Monitor client files and critical deadlines.
- Coordinate travel arrangements and meetings as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments as required.
Educational Background:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least three years of experience in an administrative role supporting IP attorneys.
- Understanding of docket management and deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of USPTO filing processes.
