Role Responsibilities
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in our care teams, which are designed to provide exceptional patient experiences. Your responsibilities will include:
- Facilitating efficient patient flow by promptly rooming patients and assisting providers in maintaining their schedules.
- Delivering outstanding patient service and preparing patients for their appointments.
- Collecting vital signs, documenting chief complaints, and reviewing medication histories.
- Conducting patient screenings in accordance with established protocols.
- Managing inventory by ordering supplies and ensuring exam rooms are well-stocked.
- Performing routine quality control checks, including infection control measures and equipment maintenance.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment in exam rooms for patient visits.
- Providing telephonic support to patients under the guidance of an RN or provider.
- Administering vaccinations and performing diagnostic procedures as directed.
- Conducting waived laboratory tests and scheduling necessary diagnostic evaluations.
- Assisting with the application of durable medical equipment.
- Participating in care team meetings to enhance patient care and clinic operations.
- Completing additional tasks as assigned.
The Medical Assistant will report directly to the Practice Manager.
Candidate Profile
We seek motivated and experienced Medical Assistants who possess:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Medical Assistant role.
- Current CPR certification.
- Medical Assistant certification or registration; however, over 5 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of certification.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Experience working with geriatric patients is preferred.
- Phlebotomy Technician Certification is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a positive, adaptable attitude.
- Fluency in Spanish, Polish, Russian, or other languages relevant to our patient communities is advantageous.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
