We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English Language Instruction (ELI) Teacher & Support Specialist to join our team in Fort Worth. As an ELI Teacher, you will play a vital role in empowering adult learners with the skills they need to thrive in their personal and professional lives.

About the Role:

This is a dual-role position that involves supporting the ELI team with student enrollments, pre- and post-testing, client follow-up, and teaching ELI classes. You will work closely with the ELI Supervisor and Lead Support Specialist to ensure compliance with the TXOR Education Grant and foster a supportive learning environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Instructor Role:
  • Design and implement engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles, focusing on speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in English.
  • Assess student progress through regular evaluations, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their language learning goals.
  • Track students' attendance and create a positive environment that encourages participation, respect, and collaboration among students.
  • Communicate with the ELI Supervisor about student and curriculum needs, as well as professional development opportunities.
    • Support Specialist Role:
    • Work closely with the Lead Support Specialist to attend various tasks, such as attendance tracking, student enrollments, and maintaining organized client records.
    • Become BEST Plus Certified and attend additional training to keep certification up to date as needed.
    • Reach out to students who miss classes, providing support or referrals to other programs as needed.
    • Occasionally, assist with client referrals, case management, and post-testing.
    • Periodically take inventory of curriculum and print and assemble more student books as needed.
    Requirements:
    • Mature and personal Christian faith.
    • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief.
    • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities.
    • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Relief's Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity, and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document.
    • Cross-cultural experience.
    • A passion for engaging volunteers in service opportunities.
    • Experience working with adult ELI learners.
    • Willingness and ability to commit to the position for a minimum of one year.
    • Driver's license and access to a vehicle required.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Knowledge of a second language is strongly preferred.
    • Experience in case management preferred.
    • Excellent interpersonal and written/spoken communication skills.
    • Familiarity and ease of use in basic computer programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, databases); other design/marketing skills a plus.
    • Confidentiality and professionalism.
    • Knowledge of World Relief.
    Compensation and Benefits:

Our competitive compensation package includes a salary range of $40,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and an employee discount program for full-time and part-time employees.
