Job Title: RN Charge Nurse (PM Shift)

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate RN Charge Nurse to join our team at Mercy Retirement & Care Center, a leading provider of senior care services in Oakland, CA.

Job Summary:

The RN Charge Nurse will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing the nursing care of residents in our skilled nursing setting. This includes supervising CNAs and supportive staff members, ensuring continuity of care, and participating in resident and family teaching.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess residents on admission and on a weekly basis, as well as when there is a change of condition.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each resident.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to CNAs and supportive staff members to ensure high-quality care.
  • Participate in resident and family teaching, promoting education and empowerment.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of resident care, including progress notes and care plans.
Requirements:
  • Current RN license issued by the State of California.
  • Minimum of six months of experience in long-term care, home care, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of computers and typing, sufficient enough to be successful with computerized Point of Care and other systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sensitivity and knowledge of working with older adults and the aging process.
