Travel Nurse RN Position

We are seeking a qualified Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our team at a top-rated hospital in Oakland, California. As a Travel Nurse RN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the perioperative setting.
Job SummaryThe OR RN will be accountable for the direct and indirect provision of professional nursing care to patients in the operating room. This includes ongoing evaluation and documentation of all components of care delivered to customers within the perioperative and outpatient environment.
Responsibilities- Follows and completes assignments as given by the charge nurse.
- Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis.
- Gathers supplies and equipment for surgical cases.
- Individualizes patient care according to patient's health status, age level, and surgery/procedure being performed.
- Prepares surgery suite for surgical procedures.
- Scrubs and circulates for surgical procedures for various surgeons that operate.
- Restocks supplies in the surgery suite when procedures have ended for the day.
- Monitoring of surgery inventory and notifying appropriate individuals when supplies are needed.
- Operates equipment and performs technical skills according to policies and standards; learns new skills and seeks assistance appropriately.
- Assesses patient's needs including physical, psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, educational, sexual, and age-related needs.
- Implements good judgment and critical thinking appropriate to the situation.
- Documents are complete, clear, concise, and according to policy and procedures.
- Ensures that the Surgery Department and Operating Rooms are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- RN state license – unencumbered and active.
- Minimum one year recent OR experience in hospital.
- Active AHA BLS required, ACLS preferred.
