AHD Charge Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to join our team at Alameda Hospital. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and leading a team of nursing professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Perform Nurse Leader rounds to assess nursing care and status of personnel, making reassignments as necessary and providing assistance, teaching, or guidance as needed.
- Gather and assess information about patients to meet nursing needs, assisting and consulting with physicians in the performance of procedures and diagnostic tests, and contacting physicians and/or other departments to obtain or provide patient information.
- Monitor the implementation of standards set by State and National regulatory and/or accrediting agencies, verifying that administrative and personnel procedures are completed accurately, and interpreting and implementing policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Participate in promoting a healthy, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients and families, setting up and controlling the environment essential for infection control.
- Promote cordial and productive patterns of communication among staff, patients, and family members, communicating regularly to immediate supervisors any needs, problems, or suggestions.
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse II with AHS or the equivalent of three years full-time professional nursing experience in a large acute facility in the clinical area of application.
- Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
- CCRN - Critical Care Registered Nurse is desirable.
- CEN - Certified Emergency Nurse is desirable.
- PCCN – Progressive Care Nursing is desirable.
