Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Front Desk Agent is to assist guests during their arrival and departure, ensuring a positive experience throughout their stay.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome guests warmly with a friendly demeanor, providing clear information about hotel services and local attractions.
  • Manage the registration process, accurately inputting guest information and confirming details such as room rates and guest counts.
  • Handle financial transactions, including credit card authorizations and cash management, while maintaining an accurate house bank.
  • Respond promptly to phone inquiries, taking messages and relaying information to guests as needed.
  • Facilitate check-out procedures, ensuring guest satisfaction and addressing any concerns that may arise.
  • Resolve guest complaints through thorough investigation and effective negotiation.
  • Maintain composure during busy periods and emergency situations, using sound judgment to implement necessary actions.
  • Adhere to attendance policies and be available for regular shifts.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support hotel operations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a hotel environment is advantageous.
  • Strong mathematical skills for handling financial transactions accurately.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with guests and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the front office while performing essential functions.
  • Proficient in using computer systems for data entry and retrieval.
  • Capability to recognize and respond to emergency situations.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to adapt to various audiences.
