Role Overview

We are looking for a proficient and seasoned DevOps Engineer to contribute to the development and management of R. K. Tongue Co.'s technology infrastructure. As the primary DevOps Engineer within our compact development team, you will take charge of designing, developing, and executing our continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) frameworks, alongside maintaining and enhancing our operational systems. You will work closely with our development team to ensure seamless deployment and functionality of our software applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with software development and quality assurance teams to design, implement, and sustain efficient and scalable CI/CD pipelines.
  • Create and improve automation tools and scripts to optimize software build, deployment, and release workflows.
  • Oversee and troubleshoot production systems to guarantee high availability, performance, and security.
  • Establish and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
  • Manage and deploy infrastructure utilizing infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Continuously assess, recommend, and implement new technologies and tools to enhance the reliability and scalability of our software services.
  • Document processes, standards, and configurations to ensure consistency and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Work with security and compliance teams to implement and uphold necessary security measures and ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.
Required Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience in a DevOps or related role.
  • In-depth knowledge of CI/CD principles and experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages.
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms like AWS or GCP, with hands-on experience in provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with security best practices and experience in implementing security controls in a DevOps context.
  • Solid grasp of containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like AWS ECS.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Grafana.
  • Knowledge of networking principles and experience with technologies like load balancers, proxies, and firewalls.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in relevant technologies such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Familiarity with Git version control and experience with Git workflows.
  • Experience in database administration and management.

The salary range for this position will vary based on candidate level, experience, and location. The base salary for this position contemplates a range of $160,000 - $210,000. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and benefits. Proof of eligibility to work in the United States and a background check is required upon employment.
