Job Description

Job Title: Manufacturing Operations Specialist

Reports to: Operations Manager

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Salary: $27/hour

Schedule: Swing Shift 7a-7p or 7p-7a (The shift is 12 hours, rotating weekends; one week the schedule is 36 hours, the next week the schedule is 48 hours). On the weeks where team member works 36 hours, they will be paid 4 hours, to complete the 40-hour work week.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Operations Specialist to support our manufacturing processes. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for monitoring and adjusting processes, testing batch quality, maintaining equipment logbooks, ensuring the area is clean, and reporting any machine faults to shift supervision and via Maintenance Job Ticket.

To ensure success, you should have keen observation skills, experience with industrial equipment design, and the ability to stand for long periods. The ideal candidate will be able to identify repeat faults and suggest manufacturing improvements to increase production throughput.


Responsibilities

  • Identify and monitor production machine parameters
  • Monitor and test product/batch quality
  • Ensure production processes run smoothly and efficiently
  • Identify machine faults and production rate errors
  • Maintain production logbooks
  • Report faults and breakdowns to supervisors and production engineers
  • Maintain a clean and safe production area
  • Assist team members to adhere to TekModo safety protocols
  • Follow all procedures regarding equipment adjustment, maintenance, and tooling changeovers
  • Identify areas of production that can be improved
  • Create and modify Operator Instructions and Process Flows
  • FANUC robot touch-ups / homing
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering preferred
  • 3+ years' experience as a process technician in a high-speed throughput industry
  • Excellent analytical and observational skills
  • Sound knowledge of industrial machines and mechanical processes
  • Advanced report-writing skills. Utilizing Power BI for data analysis scorecards
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently

Physical Demands

  • On occasion, the employee is required to handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift up to 35 pounds
  • Regular use of mezzanine steps and ladders to access equipment
  • Ability to work shifts and possibly nights
  • Comfortable working in a noisy and hot environment. (with appropriate PPE)
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
