Job Overview

Palo Alto Networks is a leader in cybersecurity, and we're seeking a skilled Cloud Operations Engineer to join our team. As an integral part of our data center operations team, you'll play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing the performance, reliability, and efficiency of our cloud infrastructure.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals who are passionate about innovation and problem-solving. As a Cloud Operations Engineer, you'll be responsible for building automated tools for cloud operations, working closely with the DevOps team to provide follow-the-sun operational coverage, and collaborating with the Engineering team to influence the operability of our products.

Your Impact

  • You will take full end-to-end responsibility for the production environment of our SaaS product deployed on GCP.
  • You will build tools for automatic remediation of known issues.
  • You will develop Infrastructure-as-code which will be used to orchestrate production and dev environments.
  • You will design, build, maintain, and scale production services with thousands of Kubernetes clusters.
  • You will troubleshoot OS, hardware, components, and server installation, rack n stack, cabling, decommission, repurpose servers in our data centers, hardware replacement ordering RMA, and inventory management (DCIM).

Requirements

We're looking for someone with 4+ years of experience as a DevOps/SRE engineer with a passion for technology and strong motivation and responsibility for high reliability and service level. You should have effective communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work and coordinate between multiple teams, high proficiency in scripting – Shell scripts, Python or Go preferred, high proficiency with Linux, high proficiency with containerized environments (Kubernetes and Docker), and ability to grasp new technologies quickly and prioritize and multitask on multiple responsibilities.

Desired Experience

  • Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform operations.
  • Proficiency with Prometheus and other cloud native monitoring solutions.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD and Configuration Management.
  • Experience with Ansible and/or Terraform.
  • CentOS, Ubuntu, and Windows Patching.

Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $126,000 to $203,500 per year, depending on qualifications, experience, and work location. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus.
