About the Role:

As a Cloud Operations Engineer III at Umpqua Bank, you will administer and engineer server solutions or applications in support of the company's initiatives. Providing high-level customer service to bank associates, you will assist or advise other teams on technical issues. Your responsibilities will include preparing system solution designs, implementing and maintaining complex enterprise-class systems and applications, analyzing the performance of infrastructure to assist with capacity planning in both public (Microsoft Azure) and private cloud environments. You will participate in vulnerability remediation on infrastructure components and Disaster Recovery planning/participation.

About You:

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, and 4-7 years of experience in system or network engineering in a mid-size company with a proven track record of success. You should have strong coordination, organization, troubleshooting, and communication abilities. Proven experience with building and maintaining cloud systems and infrastructure is required. You should be familiar with Git and understand the role that version control and effective code review has in creating great software. You should have a strong understanding of the software development life cycle, and often find yourself seeking and sharing ideas on how to make it better. You should be able to troubleshoot principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools, such as Terraform, Ansible, or Salt Stack, and building, deploying, and hosting applications in a major cloud provider like Azure is also required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Knowledge of trends in technology in multiple areas is a plus. A positive attitude, ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly, and excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities are also required. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is essential.
