Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Capital Project Manager II to lead mid-to-large-size capital projects that improve plant operations, increase capacity, and maximize productivity at the lowest operating cost. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, engineering, or a related field, and experience with capital project management, cost estimation, and project coordination.

Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, from initiation to execution, with project durations of 6-24 months and values up to $10MM.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, manufacturing personnel, suppliers, and consultants to ensure project success.
  • Prepare cost estimates, calculate return on investment, and present capital projects to senior management for approval.
  • Lead the development of project requirements, understanding design standards, customer requirements, and performance standards.
  • Provide on-site supervision of contractors and ensure compliance with safety and food safety program requirements.
  • Communicate project status, reviews, and recommendations to all levels of leadership, including the CEO.
  • Review and recommend changes to plant layout to optimize flow for new and replacement equipment.
  • Compile and submit information for required departmental and corporate reports.
Qualifications
  • BS degree in engineering or a technical field, preferably in industrial, chemical, or mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in capital project management.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software is required.
  • Prior experience in design, maintenance, process improvement, or manufacturing is preferred.
  • CPG, nutritional, or food processing experience is preferred.
  • Experience with continuous improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma Green belt or Black belt is preferred.
  • Understanding of automation systems and controls integration is preferred.

Working Conditions/Environment

Works in a normal office environment with regular requirements to speak, see, hear, sit, stand, talk, type, walk, and bend while moving about the facility. Frequent (25-50%) travel to plant locations in the U.S. and vendor locations globally. The noise level in the office is quiet.
