Position Overview: Plan and execute preventive maintenance and repairs on various types of construction machinery in accordance with all relevant manuals, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Ensure that all construction machinery operates efficiently, safely, and complies with the company's Preventative Maintenance Program.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Interpret and comprehend plans and specifications, including Operator's Manuals and relevant technical bulletins.
  • Utilize appropriate hand and power tools to repair, replace, or maintain equipment.
  • Receive equipment assigned to the task and document its condition; establish regular service and inspection schedules for this equipment.
  • Organize a repository of reference materials, equipment files, and backlog schedules.
  • Assess timelines to ensure certifications for cranes and commercial vehicles are met.
  • Assist equipment operators in effectively utilizing the Daily Walkaround Report.
  • Support the project with the creation of an accurate Equipment Locator.
  • Ensure the efficient, clean, and safe fueling and lubrication of machinery.
  • Guarantee that equipment leaving the site is ready for the next assignment.
  • Document findings with the Off-Hire Report.
Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent may be required, along with several years of experience in the field or a related area.
  • Strong working knowledge, skills, and abilities pertinent to the position are essential.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and convey written and oral instructions, and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
  • Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools, layout tools, and measurement instruments.
  • The individual in this role must be able to move about a construction or industrial site, which includes standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
  • Regularly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to varying outdoor weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends, overtime, and holidays as necessary.
  • May be required to use ladders, mechanical platforms, manlifts, or scaffolding to access necessary equipment or work areas (which may exceed 200 feet), thus must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
  • Ability to navigate and work in confined and cluttered spaces, as well as on uneven surfaces.
  • Must be capable of completing tasks in a noisy and dusty environment.
  • May be required to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across the construction or industrial site.
  • Possession of required tools is necessary.
  • A valid U.S. Driver's License may be required.
  • Adhere to and comply with all safety and project regulations, and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing is essential.
