Corporate Security Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Security Specialist to join our team at National Steel and Shipbuilding Company. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for protecting the people and property of our organization, as well as our valued customers and partners.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service and communication skills to internal and external stakeholders
- Respond to crisis situations calmly and efficiently, making effective decisions to ensure the safety and security of our assets
- Implement and maintain all security procedures as outlined by our company and relevant authorities, demonstrating responsible and dependable behavior
- Stay adaptable and open to change, able to adjust to new information and unexpected obstacles
- Maintain focus and situational awareness in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Continuously develop critical thinking skills to mitigate actual and potential security threats
- Facilitate access to our facilities at designated entry points
- Interact with visitors and employees, providing directions and responding to inquiries
- Screen and bag-check incoming and departing employees and visitors
- Screen commercial and industrial deliveries
- Conduct patrols, both on foot and in vehicles
- Enforce company parking rules and regulations
- Staff our regular and emergency telephone system
- Dispatch medical services, fire department, ambulance service, and law enforcement agencies, assist responding agencies with facility entrance
- Monitor surveillance cameras and review archived footage
- Document all incidents in objective and comprehensive reports
- Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to obtain a California Guard Card within 90 days of hire
- Proficiency in the English language (i.e. able to read, write, speak, and comprehend)
- Successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
- Excellent customer service skills
- Experience in the following computer programs: MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and basic understanding of computer operations
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive company vehicles and golf carts
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per company grooming standards

$43,100 to $56,700
This pay range is a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role, taking into account a wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, and education.
We also provide a variety of benefits, including medical and dental insurance coverage, 401(k) retirement savings plan, flexible spending accounts/HSAs, life and disability insurance, company-paid holidays and paid time off (PTO), wellness coaching, and on-site health services.
