Regional Sales Manager Position Summary
The Regional Sales Manager is a valued member of the XL Specialized Trailers team, responsible for establishing, growing, and maintaining a strong presence within the Western Region. This role involves building strong customer relationships that foster sales and growth for the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify business opportunities by assessing prospects' positions in the industry, researching sales options, and evaluating their potential.
- Sell products by establishing contact with dealers, developing relationships, and recommending solutions.
- Direct channel development activities and coordinate sales distribution of territories, quotas, and goals.
- Maintain relationships with dealers by providing support, information, and guidance, and recommending profit and service improvements.
- Meet or exceed company short- and long-term sales and performance goals, ensuring revenue targets and designated product mix targets are fulfilled efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Develop and enhance Critical to Customer (CTC) metrics to ensure XL is seen as the most customer-focused company in its market segments.
- Develop product improvements or new products by staying current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors.
- Represent the company at trade shows to promote products.
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
- Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Candidates must possess a customer-centered attitude.
- Exceptional negotiation, motivational, relationship-building, and client services skills.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Energetic, dynamic, enthusiastic personality.
- Self-starter, self-motivated individual.
- Computer literacy, including intermediate or advanced skills in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, supply chain, or other related field.
- Four years' experience in heavy equipment sales.
- Verifiable track record of lead generation.
- Maintain a valid driver's license.
- Hold a U.S. Passport.
Working Conditions
- Travel domestically by airplanes or cars up to 70% of the time, with overnight travel.
- Must be able to successfully work at a home office.
