About the Role

The Hostler Driver will support operations as an on-call, union casual employee. This role requires the individual to be available for work assignments on an on-call basis, typically from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. There is no guarantee of a minimum number of hours, and job duties will vary daily based on operational needs.
  • This position operates on a call-in, as needed basis.
  • Compensation ranges from $38.75 to $43.47 per hour.
  • All candidates selected for an interview must provide a current driving history record covering a minimum of 10 years.
  • Must successfully pass a background check, alcohol, and drug screening.
  • Must join the union and maintain good standing with Teamsters Local 959.
Responsibilities:
  • Street driving: Transport equipment to and from customer locations, demonstrating the ability to perform all duties related to commercial driving.
  • Hostler Operation: Safely maneuver containers to and from yard and dock locations in preparation for and during vessel operations.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by management.
  • Consistently adhere to safety rules and practices to ensure duties are performed safely and reliably.
  • Comply with OSHA and DOT safety regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Tanker, Air Brake, and HazMat endorsements.
  • Preferred one to two years of commercial driving experience.
  • Must hold a current DOT medical card.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TWIC card.
  • Ability to work all shifts and overtime as required.
Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this position require the employee to be capable of working in various environments and weather conditions. Physical activities include standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, bending, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching.
