Job Summary:

The Salvation Army is seeking a skilled Maintenance Professional to join our team in Kodiak, Alaska. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the upkeep and minor repairs of our building and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the facilities, including inventory management and supply ordering.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as painting, patching, and minor construction.
  • Assist with the maintenance and repair of utilities, including heat, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Operate a large vehicle to transport supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Corps Officer.

Requirements:

  • Valid Alaska Driver's License.
  • Proven experience working in the field of maintenance.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills.
  • Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment:

This position requires working in a variety of weather conditions, including wet weather. Personal protective equipment will be worn as required.

Language Skills:

The employee must be able to understand, follow, and give both written and oral instructions and be comfortable working with diverse individuals in face-to-face contact and over the telephone.
