Job Title: Monitor/Aide

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Monitor/Aide to join our team at First Student Canada-Transco. As a Monitor/Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe transportation of students and passengers. Your primary responsibilities will include providing operational oversight, day-to-day management, and assisting drivers in safe operation of routes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the welfare of passengers while in route and communicate any behavior problems or conditions of various stops with the driver.
  • Assist in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus and assist students in the loading and unloading process.
  • Cooperate and communicate with school personnel, students, and parents, and attend all safety and training meetings.
  • Conduct emergency evacuation from the bus, including use of exiting by emergency door, and open and close service doors and move up and down steps multiple times daily.
  • Clean the inside of the bus and assist driver when necessary to safely direct the vehicle backwards.

Requirements:

  • Good verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Early morning availability and judgement/problem solving skills.
  • Ability to manage high degrees of stress and work in a fast-paced environment.
