Mass General Brigham Vascular Access Nurse Job Description

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Vascular Access Nurse to join our team in Chelsea, Massachusetts. As a Vascular Access Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the safe and effective delivery of intravenous therapy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert care to patients requiring vascular access, including insertion and maintenance of central lines, PICCs, and other vascular access devices.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify potential complications and develop strategies to prevent them.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and optimize vascular access practices.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.

Requirements:

  • Current Massachusetts RN License required.
  • AD with 3-5 years experience or BSN degree in nursing required.
  • Knowledge of IV Therapy Nursing.
  • IV Therapy Nursing experience preferred.
  • Dedication to both bedside teaching and formal hospital education programs.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to develop and support unit-based quality improvement/research projects.
