Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect payments from patients for services provided and make change as needed, maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Reconcile change bank daily and submit daily deposit and deposit reconciliation report, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Input patient demographic and insurance data into the electronic health record system, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Complete patient registration paperwork for health and financial purposes, as needed, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Notify other staff and providers of patient arrivals, facilitating effective communication and teamwork.
  • Aid with preparation of claims for insurance payers, submitting prior authorizations with insurances, and ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Practice safety, environmental, and infection control methods, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Process medical records requests and make copies of records as needed, adhering to confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to patient inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.

Requirements:

  • Two years of general clerical experience, with a focus on customer service and communication.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines, ensuring the security and integrity of patient information.
  • Basic computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and electronic health record systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience providing support over the phone and in-person to diverse groups of customers.
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office programs and electronic health record systems.
  • Experience working with public and/or private health insurance plans.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting, with knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
