Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a highly skilled Lead Project Engineer to manage the execution of full lifecycle Project Engineering support for a suite of programs focused on software deliverables. The successful candidate will lead a project team to meet customer requirements within allocated cost and schedule commitments in a growing business area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and oversee the cost/schedule/technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects within program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer.
  • Review project status and budgets, manage schedules, and prepare status reports.
  • Assess engineering issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Identify, track, mitigate, manage, and dispose of program-level risks.
  • Estimate resource and material needs for the project/product.
  • Coordinate between resource managers/supervisors and ensure all necessary reviews and approvals are received.
  • Coordinate between technical and supply chain teams to ensure all necessary material and subcontracts are received when needed.
  • Lead small to medium size teams and perform a wide variety of tasks.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Experience with project engineering and program execution in managing multi-discipline programs across multiple locations.
  • Experience in hardware/software integration programs.
  • Experience managing projects with budgets of $10M+.
  • Experience with Technical Supplier Management, Risk and Opportunity Management.
  • Experience with managing Agile SW development programs including using Confluence.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
Preferred Skills:
  • Active TS/SCI with CI poly security clearance.
  • STEM or engineering degrees preferred.
  • Experience maintaining ground segment software.
  • Experience leading Government Contract development programs.
  • Experience in Government contract acquisition lifecycle a plus.
  • Experience with management of design to cost activities.
  • Experience with program, pursuit and proposal activities.
