Military Maintenance Specialist II

We are seeking a highly skilled Military Maintenance Specialist II to join our team at the Vermont Military Department. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance work across multiple trades, including carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and heating.
Key Responsibilities- Perform maintenance work on buildings, roads, and training areas, including snow removal in winter months
- Operate heavy equipment, including loaders, excavators, dozers, and heavy trucks equipped with plows and wings
- Maintain knowledge of safety procedures and follow instructions to ensure a safe working environment
- Work independently and as part of a team to complete assignments correctly and in a timely manner
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members
- High school diploma or equivalent and two or more years' experience in building construction, maintenance, or a related field
- OR one or more years as a Military Maintenance Specialist I
- Preferred qualifications include five or more years of work experience in building construction or maintenance, building trades/vocational education, military experience, and previous experience working on a military installation
