Job Description

Our client, a prominent utility provider, is currently looking for an Equipment Maintenance Specialist for a direct hire opportunity on the first shift (Monday to Friday during summer months, and a unique rotation during winter months).


SUMMARY

The Equipment Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting our operations and clients by ensuring that machinery at various sites operates efficiently and effectively around the clock. This includes overseeing natural gas compressors, dryers, gas dispensers, control panels, valves, piping, wiring, electrical systems, high-pressure gas systems, pneumatics, offloading stations, and related equipment. Additionally, on-call responsibilities during nights and weekends may be required on a rotating schedule.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Executing all assigned projects and tasks with proficiency.
  2. Monitoring and documenting maintenance activities.
  3. Logging daily operational parameters.
  4. Managing and maintaining supply inventories.
  5. Organizing and overseeing all tools and equipment.
  6. Coordinating with vendors and suppliers.
  7. Timely procurement of parts and materials.
  8. Scheduling and managing external maintenance contractors.
  9. Adhering to all company safety practices, policies, industry standards, manufacturer recommendations, and OSHA guidelines.
  10. Occasionally assisting with daily facility operations, maintenance, or other special projects as directed by the Operations Director.
  11. Providing coverage for other Maintenance Specialists as needed during absences.
  12. Presenting a professional image that aligns with company standards.
  13. Maintaining awareness of how actions impact the experience of customers and colleagues.
  14. Fulfilling on-call responsibilities as assigned.
  15. Performing other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

  1. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma is required, along with three years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must possess a proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose a variety of equipment and systems, hands-on mechanical skills, and a working knowledge of heavy machinery, pneumatics, motors, compressors, and electrical systems.

Additional qualifications include:

  1. LANGUAGE: Ability to read and comprehend safety manuals, parts manuals, operational manuals, schematics, mechanical drawings, and wiring diagrams. Proficiency in writing reports and procedure manuals, and effectively presenting information to colleagues and clients.
  2. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and statistics, with the ability to apply these concepts in developing and troubleshooting solutions.
  3. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and address a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Competence in interpreting and acting on various instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  4. COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficiency in basic computer programs, including email, spreadsheets, and word processing.
  5. OTHER SKILLS: Exceptional communication skills, a collaborative attitude, and a commitment to quality. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required. Self-motivation and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential.

Salary: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
