About the Role
The CDL driver position reports directly to the Program Director and plays a vital role in advancing the YMCA mission by ensuring safe and efficient transportation for YMCA members, volunteers, participants, and staff.

Key Responsibilities of the CDL Driver include:

  • Adhere to all relevant federal and state regulations concerning the operation of various vehicle types while transporting YMCA participants to and from educational institutions, special events, field trips, and more.
  • Manage a variety of duties, including vehicle inspections as required, ensuring that tags and registrations are current by notifying the transportation Director within 30 days prior to expiration.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, utilizing the designated inspection report.
  • Ensure the vehicle is equipped with an accident reporting kit and a First Aid kit, including Bloodborne Pathogen supplies.
  • Maintain participant management through effective communication and discipline in accordance with YMCA policies, ensuring the safety of all passengers at all times.
Available Shifts
  • Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM & 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Must pass local jurisdiction requirements for a criminal background check.
  • Possession of a Commercial Driver's License with a C class and P Endorsement is mandatory.
  • Must provide a copy of the driving record, with no points.
  • Participation in random drug screenings is required.
  • All speeding and parking violations must be settled by the driver.
Working Environment:
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods.
  • Must possess visual acuity to monitor all children effectively.
