About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join our team at Amcor Flexibles, LLC. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, directing, and coordinating projects that involve both mechanical and electrical components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a safety leader and demonstrate safety leadership by complying with all safety rules, policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • Support all written safety programs and safety training.
  • Determine customer needs by identifying problems and safety concerns, and develop and evaluate alternate solutions to narrow down and define project scope.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and/or assemble the engineering package/project documentation for each assigned project.
  • Provide purchasing services for project materials required, including reviewing potential vendors, contacting vendors, coordinating with the Purchasing Department, issuing purchase orders, some price negotiation, and expediting delivery.
  • Coordinate project costs, project scheduling, and supplying pertinent communication for projects that may vary in terms of scope and responsibilities.
  • Determine materials required for each project, including reviewing potential vendors, issuing purchase requisitions, and expediting delivery when necessary.
  • Interface with people, departments, and/or companies to ensure that equipment is safe, made on schedule, and to specification.
  • Coordinate or assist with installation, checkout, start-up, and training as necessary.
  • Provide engineering support and troubleshooting to the plant when machine breakdown issues cannot be solved by maintenance.
  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement projects and lead teams as requested.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering field (BSEE, BSME, BSET, BEMT) with 3-6 years of experience.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing verbiage, process, tools, etc.
  • Understanding of business processes and process improvement.
  • Exceptional analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Travel approximately up to 10% of the time to support plants.
  • Ability to support onsite 24 hours on call schedule during project go lives.
